Nurse's Unit

Compassionate Care, Healing Hearts

On November 30, 1986, the Nurse’s Unit was formed under the leadership of the late Bishop Alvin L. Tate and the late Evangelist Willa Whitted, President of the local Women’s Auxiliary at Soul Saving Station in New York City.

The purpose of the Nurse’s Unit is to administer first aide to sick members in compliance with the guidelines of the American Red Cross, refer members to the hospital or their private physician for follow-up medical care, to visit the sick in their homes or in the hospital, and to provide support to members and their families during funerals. The unit serves as a medical resource to provide health information and literature. The Nurse’s Unit works in partnership with other ministry departments to care for the holistic needs of the congregation.
